‘Executive director’ post now open

PRSP president Yoly Crisanto, APR, announced this board decision at the March 21 GMM in a message read for her by PRSP internal vice-president Jika Dalupan, APR.

Former PRSP president Butch Raquel serves as consultant in the interim, while the Board searches for qualified candidates to fill the new post. Sonia Tejada, who served in the PRSP Secretariat for 39 years, retired in March 2013.

Crisanto asked for the active involvement of PRSP members as the Society lives its mission to “steer the country towards progress while preserving its precious heritage and culture, guided only by the highest ethical standards.”

She also bared plans to create regional chapters in key areas like Cebu and Davao, “where there are quite a number of PR practitioners who are willing to join our prestigious society and share our ideals.”

Crisanto said, “The board will endeavor to level up our activities to be more engaging for the members. We shall be a game changer in the industry, worthy of emulation and utmost respect. We will use our GMMs venues for learning and professional development. We will open up channels for active discussions on current PR practices as it unfolds online, on air, or on ground. Our discussions will have great emphasis on best PR practices, adherence to ethical standards, issues management, or improving reputational capital. These topics will help members further develop their competencies in the practice of PR communications.”
